About Us
OUR PHILOSOPHY:
Cypress Adventist School (CAS) is a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Kindergarten through 8th grade school with students of many faith traditions. We welcome all families who share our educational goals regardless of race or religion. We aim for our students to achieve academic excellence, develop emotional stability, physical well-being, social responsibility and a caring attitude towards others.
ACCREDITATION:
CAS is a Washington State Approved school and also holds accreditation with the North Pacific Union Conference of SDA.
ABOUT THE SDA SCHOOL SYSTEM:
The Seventh-day Adventist denomination operates the largest Protestant school system in the world. There are 6,000 schools from the Elementary to the University level. CAS adheres to state regulations for education and accepts students without regard to race or religious affiliation.
LOW STUDENT/TEACHER RATIO:
At CAS, classrooms average 15 students per teacher. This enables our teachers to give individual attention to students, identifying the abilities and needs of each.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE:
For a minimal hourly fee, childcare is available from 7:15-8:15 a.m. and 3:15-5:30 p.m.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT:
We are a community that is based, not on a neighborhood or single congregation, but on the common pursuit of excellence. Parents, extended family members, church members and friends are all invited and encouraged to participate in this pursuit for the enrichment of the students. Opportunities include:
· listening to young students read
· sharing your expertise in a special project in the classroom
· driving for field trips
· serving on an operating committee
· helping with or coordinating fundraising projects
· participating in the hot lunch program
· offering extra tutoring for students
These are just a few of the ways parents help make our school a success.
